Eratoo Human Rights Film Festival announces opening the door for participation in its 2nd version to be held in Tripoli capital of Libya during the period from 10-14 DEC 2018.
Nominated films will be competing for the festivals awards which are to be decided and granted by the judging committee formed from cinema prominent figures.
The festival films competition is divided into two categories:
short films competition on International level,
short films competition on Local level ,
The judging committee will decide on granting the festival awards according to each competition level as follows:
Eratoo Golden Award,
Eratoo Silver Award,
Eratoo Brunz Award.
In his part, Mr. ANWAR GHARGOOM, the festival’s founder & president, stressed on the importance of the event by saying “while we are announcing opening the door for participating in the festival among current critical conditions that Libya is passing through, we stay challenged to such conditions as long as our noble goal is to increase culture of human rights awareness within the society.
“The event is also providing us with an opportunity to be in the frame for latest human rights – related cinema works”.
Mr. ANWAR went on saying “participating films will help enabling the judging committee to discover new cinema talents and to shed the lights on implied messages through their works.
“this becomes clear from last year experience which provides proof and support for our thoughts and theme, so we are more consistent for holding the festival’s 2nd version with new vision”.
He added “upon finishing the stage of receiving applications for participation, special team will review nominated films to make sure that they are reflecting human rights issues and containing valuable cinema that anchors peaceful life concepts and values and to discover newly-adopted approaches to the cinema creativity”.
Mr. ANWAR concluded his word by saying “we, through Eratoo Human Rights Film Festival, are keen to screening important films of high quality cinema, and moreover to introducing new cinema talents to the cinema audience and to the globe through the festival portal”.
The deadline for submitting applications is on 31/Oct/2018.
